If ya’ll wanna be smart asses about this, maybe this is something you should take into consideration.

When there’s an object in water, there’s something called buoyancy. It’s what determines if that object sinks or floats. It’s a force that opposes upon an object kind of like gravity. When you apply more weight (Rose) on the object, the buoyancy of it decreases. Now when you add even more weight (Jack) on it, it decreases to a point where it no longer floats, but rather sinks.

So in reality, you can only have one person on top of the piece of wood. One person has to die, given the circumstances of the climate, and Jack chooses her to stay on. He pretty much died for her life, saving her. In most ways, pretty romantic. But then you supply yourself with an ignorant and very immature audience that will take away the true beauty of romance. Then they idiotically ask themselves where chivalry has gone these days. Reevaluate yourselves.

Though this may be true, I’m waiting for someone to notice that if Rose stayed on that boat rather than that whole, “You jump I jump” thing, Jack would’ve had that door all to himself and meet up at the ship with Rose. So sad.
